photos to make us nostalgic

It is painful to look at these photos, the emotion is inexplicable and it probably sounds stupid, but who cares. Here's some lovely memoires

when you cannot use a camera, use your phone

Here you are some more photos. I shot these with my semi-new phone I received from the best Nokia worker ever. It is a very useful phone, easy and full of applications and I really like the structure. Actually, I was quite surprised of the quality of some images.

Here we start, from the Railwaystation of Delhi

Pictures from the fort, as I ran out of battery.

Helsinki-Vantaa airport, waiting for my piece of luggage.

I must confess to you that it is quite painful to tell stories about my journey in India and that is because I really miss that place. I find myself walking in the streets of Helsinki with my mind completly somewhere else, thinking of those amazing places I saw. The photos and stories of this blog reveal just a small part of the entire trip, since so many things were undescribable. I surely recommend you all to go to India, of course being very open-minded and ready to experience splendid things. Ah, la vie!

Ciao!

Here I am again, back in Helsinki after a very educational journey. Even though I am not in India anymore, I will still write more posts, because as you may have already noticed, I could not upload stories whenever I wanted to. So, let me start unchronologically, or to put it better, from the home-coming. As you know very well, hundreds of flights have been cancelled on account of the ash cloud. That holy cloud unfortunately affected our programs and, as was expected, we had to change our schedule.
In the morning of the 21st we arrived in New Delhi by train.

(Station of Agra)

(Delhi)

(I must apologyze for the bad quality of the photos, but I had to take them with my Nokia phone)

There was a demostration there, which made the city even more chaotic and crowded.
When we were waiting for our car, Max was called by the Finnair Company and we were asked to go to the airport as soon as possible if we wanted to fly for certain. At that point we did not have many choices and we drove straight to the airport. The airport was pretty well organized, but one funny thing was that we had to sign a paper before getting into the plane. By signing it, the air company made us responsable for our own lives if any crash or something would have occurred. Very reassuring, wasn't it? That is how things work, so finally we got into the plane and took off.
For once I could sleep, probably because I was very tired and would have fell asleep even on a bed made of nails. Everything seemed to work, maybe too well and I thought it could not be that easy and fluent... so TADAAAM, I was right! There had to be somenthing! In fact, when we were above Helsinki, a hostess announced that we were not going to land there, but the plane had to go to Rovaniemi. So, there we flew.
I experienced one of the biggest contrasts in my life: from the hot and crowded Delhi, to the calm and wintry Rovaniemi, Santa Claus' hometown. Fortunately everything was well-organized. Straight after receiving our pieces of luggage we were guided to the busses, which took us to a very nice hotel where we slept and had breakfast in the morning. The next day we went to the airport and after waiting many hours we got into the plane that led us to Helsinki.
During the sojourn in Rovaniemi I met some very nice people and the day after returning to Helsinki, I showed my hometown to two Norwegians. They were great, we had a lot of fun being tourists in Helsinki. The weather here is awful: cold, keeps on changing from sunny to snowing and it is very windy. In sum, quite a shock for me. However, it is lovely to see my friends and there are so many things waiting to be told.
I am off for now,

Have a lovely Sunday, my dears!

An old post

Here I am again!
We are stuck in the airport of Rovaniemi. Our flight should have left one hour ago, but guess why we are still here? The Finnair staff have to rest until 9pm and we, clients, must wait for them. What can you do but laugh and take this as an amusing experience?
When we were in Agra, after seeing the Taj and its fort, I wrote the post I wanted to put here, but not having an internet connection I could not do it. Therefore, I write what I wanted to post on the 20th of April, when we visited Agra.

Hey!
It was not that easy to leave Rathambhore in the morning, specially after visiting the fort in the National Park. The last night there was very nice and in fact, I did not sleep, just rested (no more comments) before going to the Ranthambhore Fort.

The weather was for the first time a little bit cloudy -- not the best light for photographing. The fort was fantastic, and also the view on the park from there was amazing. We were guided by a local man called Naresh, who was just walking around by his own and offered to tell us stories about the construction. Overthere I encountered my difficulties with high places, because we walked on the walls, 5-8m high from the ground and at least 100m from the water level.

After the fort we went straight back to the lodge, took our stuff and reached the train station, where we caught the train to Agra. We have been here since yesterday afternoon (REMEMBER I WROTE THIS ON THE 20th!). The hotel we are staying at is very nice and thank Deus there is a pool; it is so hot, sultry actually. You cannot do much after the noon and that is the reason why we visited the Taj Mahal and its Fort in the morning, the early morning. We had as guide the friend of one guy we met at the pool of the hotel, but honestly, he was very bad. Thanks to him I learned what a guide should not do and how he/she should not behave. We could hardly understand anything he said and he was costantly repeating the same silly things. Nevertheless, the Taj and the Fort were terrific! I cannot even describe them using the perfectly right adjectives, nothing would be worthy to be chosen. I recommend them to everyone. Even their history, which I read on the net, is worth to be known.
We have walked a bit around here, in Agra. It is very very chaotic and different from the country side, which as a matter of fact, I preferred. People were much more genuine there, but as you probably already know, India is well-known for its contrasts.
